Today has been great day. One of the best days I’ve had in a long time, actually.
I went to bed early last night and got to sleep in a little bit this morning. That alone would have made my day, but then Greg was on Vada duty all day while I had me time. Yes, that’s right. Me time. I forgot how wonderful it could be!
I started the day off with my monthly manicure and pedicure. I go to Polished downtown every 4 weeks and it’s the best. I love that place. It’s clean, bright, and they do SUCH a great job. I used OPI – Kiss My Tulips for my polish this time, and I absolutely love this color! It’s bright pink (I have been obsessed with pink lately) and it’s just so fun and bright and cheery. I love it. Then I continued my mani/pedi day ritual by stopping off at Chocolate Paper and grabbing a couple treats for myself (hellooooo dark chocolate salted caramel) and some super cute things to give Vada for Easter.
After that, I came home, got my sewing things together and drove to Rocky Mount for our SWVA Modern Quilt Guild sewing day. Unfortunately, only the two Roanoke girls managed to make it to Rocky Mount to sew, and none of the Rocky Mount girls showed up, so that was a little… weird. But Dani and I still had fun sewing together at the library for 3 hours, even though we probably could have done that without driving 40 minutes out to the middle-of-nowhere. In those three hours I managed to almost finish one single Swoon block. Go me! Haha. Too much gabbing, not enough sewing I guess. I just got so relaxed getting my nails done that it took me a while to get into the swing of sewing.
I got home and sat in my car for a few minutes talking to my sister and mom on the phone, just relaxing for a minute. Do you ever do that? Just sit in your car in front of your house for a few minutes? Maybe I’m a weirdo but I do it a lot. Sometimes the car can be at the perfect temperature or something, I don’t know.
Greg pulled up behind me with Vada after playing together at the park and hanging out at Barnes and Noble for a little while. We all went inside, put together Vada’s new puzzle, I made Vada dinner, gave her a bath, put her to bed, and now Greg and I are taking it easy for the rest of the night.
So yeah, that’s all it takes for me to have the best day ever. Sleep, pink nail polish, sewing, chocolate and some family time. I’m not so hard to please, am I? ♥
